As early as the Middle Ages, peasant families made flour from dried, smoked chestnuts. They baked bread from chestnut flour and also made porridge by cooking it with water or milk. In large-scale production, ground chestnuts are also the most practical form of storage for sweet chestnuts, as they do not require freezing in this form. It is easy and quick to make, which is the basis of any chestnut dessert. Chestnut flour is made from chestnuts. Neutral odor, slightly chestnut in taste, silky light in color, with a moisture content not exceeding 8%.
